Even with savings of almost 30 BGN masonry with polystyrene concrete blocks is more energy efficient than traditionally performed external masonry. Furthermore - until recently most construction companies that meet masonry by passing an insulation system with only 5 cm thick. With the change in Regulation № 7 Energy efficiency, heat and energy saving in buildings (Amended SG. 85 of 2009) is normal insulation system has a minimum thickness of 8 cm for comparison with the PSC wall thickness of 25 cm as level of thermal insulation is equivalent to 25 cm ceramic bricks wall and insulation system with 12 cm thick.

When calculating the thickness of the insulation a heat insulating material was used which has heat conductive coefficient of 0,035 W/mK.
